Cardiff Metropolitan University

All degrees awarded by Perrotis College are validated by the Cardiff Metropolitan University, which, for 150 years, has been one of the most distinguished institutions of higher education in the United Kingdom. As an institution validated by CMU, Perrotis College can confer bachelor-level honours degrees, as well as other certifications, that are valid anywhere UK higher education degrees are recognized. And, as with all accredited higher education degree programs in Britain, our degrees must meet the rigorous quality standards of the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency.

Quality Assurance Agency

As with all higher education institutions in the UK, Cardiff Met is regularly reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the independent body charged with responsibility for ensuring that “sound standards of higher education qualifications” are maintained in all officially recognized universities and colleges and encouraging “continuous improvement in the management of the quality of higher education.”

As a partner institution of Cardiff Met, Perrotis College is subject to the same regular review processes and Quality Code that the QAA applies to all UK universities and colleges and their affiliates. As a result of this stringent quality control, the Cardiff Met degree awarded following studies at Perrotis College is recognized worldwide. The quality of Assessment is very important to ensure the validity of university degrees. The quality of assessment systems and practice at Perrotis College has been noted in the annual reports of the external examiners. Furthermore, Perrotis College was selected to be audited as Cardiff Met’s partner institution, by the quality assurance representatives of the UK Ministry of Education.

Perrotis College was selected among other Cardiff’s partners to be audited by QAA. The audit took place in November of 2015 and the conclusions of QAA’s report identified mostly positive features. Among the positive comments in addition to the excellent working in the relationship between Cardiff Met and Perrotis College were  the extent and effectiveness of student engagement at Perrotis College; and the extensive support in teaching, learning and assessment provided by the University, in particular through guidance documentation and the provision of staff development to Perrotis College teaching staff (Review of UK transnational education in Greece: Cardiff Metropolitan University and Perrotis College). As a result, following the review, Cardiff Met has been approached by the QAA to present a case study of Perrotis College at a forthcoming Quality Enhancement Network event to share the 'particularly good practice of student engagement' across the sector.

Finally, it should be noted that the ongoing close working relationship between relevant Perrotis College and Cardiff Met staff, as mentioned in various reports (Link Tutor, External, Staff meetings, QAA report), further secures the quality of the educational programs delivered at Perrotis College.
