Faculty Openings at Perrotis College - M.Sc. Programs

Perrotis College has introduced a School of Graduate Studies in fall of 2017, which awards M.Sc. Degrees in 2 different areas of concentration related to Agricultural Science and Marketing of Agricultural Products. The Graduate School builds on the AFS philosophy and long history of quality education focusing on applied research, practical training, and entrepreneurship, guided by the principles of social responsibility, as well as its century old experience as facilitator of many agricultural innovations for Greece and the area.

The School of Graduate Studies has welcomed its first class of students in the fall of 2017, complementing the College’s existing B.Sc. Programs, by providing the next tier of educational opportunities to students of the College as well as outside applicants.

Instruction at Perrotis College is conducted in the English language equipping our graduates to face the dynamics of the worlds of science, academia, and business internationally preparing them as well, for continuation at the Doctoral level abroad.

The current Perrotis College Graduate Programs are:

  • MSc in New Food Product & Business Development and,
  • MSc in Marketing for the Agro-Food Sector

The following positions will open in academic year 2018-2019:

Adjunct Faculty positions for the MSc in New Food Product & Business Development

  • Advance topics in New Product Development in animal/ plant origin products

Adjunct Faculty positions for the MSc in Marketing for the Agro-Food Sector program

  • Digital Marketing
  • Advance topics in International Promotion & Distribution
  • Domestic & International Sales

Each faculty member is required to teach 3 classroom hours and to hold 1 office hour weekly per each 3 credit hour course. Faculty members are encouraged to participate in research and to design and lead student theses.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D.) in the field of expertise
  • Proficiency level of spoken and written English
  • Teaching experience at University level preferably in English
  • Related research and publications

Desirable Personal Characteristics and Experience

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to design and lead research
  • Industrial experience
  • Strong motivation and participation to department needs
  • Post-doctoral work
  • Familiarity with the US or UK educational systems

Faculty Openings at Perrotis College – B.Sc. Programs

Perrotis College offers B.Sc. degrees in the fields of Agro-Environmental Systems Management, Business Studies and Food Science and Technology. The approach of the college is strongly interdisciplinary, while its pedagogical methodology is both research oriented and practical, giving students the opportunity to engage in learning-by-doing projects.

The Agro-Environmental Systems Management major focuses on precision agriculture, aiming to optimize the output- environmental impact ratio.  The Food Science and Technology student develops a strong foundation on food product development and related issues. The International Business major with minors in agro-marketing and agro-tourism prepares young men and women for a professional career in these two fields. The three academic divisions together encompass the full fork-to-farm educational experience.

The college offers the following teaching positions for the spring semester of academic year 2018-2019:

Adjunct Lecturers

The selected persons will serve as part time lecturers in order to fulfill teaching requirements for the academic year 2018-2019. All adjunct lectures will have 3-4 contact hours depending on the course and 1 office hour per week and course. They will also be encouraged to participate on Perrotis College sponsored research and to design and lead student theses.

Agro-Environmental Systems Management

  • Principles of Microbiology & Chemistry
  • Principles of Plant Pathology

Food Science & Technology

  • Introductory Biochemistry/
  • Biochemistry
  • Analysis and Examination of Food
  • Food Biotechnology

International Business

  • Retail Management
  • Principles of Food Science for Managers
  • Advertising & Branding

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Post graduate studies in the field of expertise
  • Proficiency level of spoken and written English (teaching will take place in English)
  • Teaching experience at University level

Desirable Personal Characteristics for all teaching positions

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to design and lead research projects connected to their subject area
  • Industrial experience
  • Strong motivation and willingness to contribute to the department needs
  • Familiarity with the US or UK educational systems
