Executive Administrative Assistant to the Academic Dean of Perrotis College

Job description:

The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support to the Academic Dean of Perrotis College.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides general administrative assistant duties, including the handling of correspondence,  answering telephone calls,  preparing documents, maintaining both physical and electronic documents’ archive;
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings and appointments, prepares agendas, books and sets up meeting rooms, takes minutes, when necessary;
  • Maintains strong communication between the Academic Dean and the faculty, staff and students;
  • Coordinates and manages monthly and yearly calendar for the Dean including critical dates for activities, College meetings/events and external meetings;
  • Organizes travel arrangements and conference participations for the Academic Dean;
  • Performs special projects and assignments as requested by the Academic Dean;
  • Prepares and anticipates materials needed for conferences, meetings, appointments;
  • Assists in the coordination of the timely completion of various reports;
  • Manages expense reports for the Academic Dean; and
  • Participates in the coordination and implementation of College events, activities and visits as part of the College Administration team.

Required qualifications and characteristics:

  • Certification in secretarial / administration studies or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (in particular word, excel and powerpoint), Google tools (calendar, google docs and drive) and presentation software such as Prezi.
  • Ability to record and transcribe minutes of meetings.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all transactions and communications.
  • Ability to respond verbally or in writing to all constituents in a polite, sensate and competent manner.
  • Ability to understand and prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.
  • Ability to keep track of and meet deadlines.

Faculty Openings at Perrotis College Graduate Programs

Perrotis College is introducing a School of Graduate Studies, which will award MSc Degrees in 5 different areas of concentration related to Agricultural Science and Marketing of Agricultural Products. The Graduate School builds on the AFS philosophy and long history of quality education focusing on applied research, practical training, and entrepreneurship, guided by the principles of social responsibility, as well as its century old experience as facilitator of many agricultural innovations for Greece and the area.

The School of Graduate Studies which will welcome its first class of students in the fall of 2017 will complement the College’s existing BSc Program, by providing the next tier of educational opportunities to students of the College as well as outside applicants.

Instruction at Perrotis College is conducted in the English language equipping our graduates to face the dynamics of the worlds of science, academia, and business internationally preparing them as well, for continuation at the Doctoral level abroad.

The Perrotis College Graduate Programs will be introduced in Fall 2017 with:

  • MSc in New Food Product & Business Development and,
  • MSc in Marketing for the Agro-Food Sector

  • Risk Analysis and Crisis Management
  • Applied Food Legislation and Packaging

Two Adjunct Faculty positions for the MSc in Marketing for the Agro-Food Sector program

  • Advanced Operations Management
  • Domestic & International Sales

Each faculty member is required to teach 3 classroom hours and to hold 1 office hour weekly per each 3 credit hour course. Faculty members are encouraged to participate in research and to design and lead student theses.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D.) in the field of expertise
  • Proficiency level of spoken and written English
  • Teaching experience at University level preferably in English
  • Related research and publications

Desirable Personal Characteristics and Experience

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to design and lead research
  • Industrial experience
  • Strong motivation and participation to department needs
  • Post-doctoral work
  • Familiarity with the US or UK educational systems
