The lab has both lab-based instruments and field instruments for measuring plant photosynthesis, respiration and transpiration under both organic and conventional growing conditions. The main focus is on measuring various ecophysiological parameters, such as soil CO2 flux and carbon sequestration, soil quality indicators and plant stress. In addition, it has facilities for studying aromatic & medicinal plants and the effect of mycorrhizae and soil microorganisms on the cultivation of vegetables, aromatic plants and fruit trees.

Microscopy Lab
The Microscopy Laboratory is equipped with high quality compound microscopes and stereoscopes allow students to study biological samples for a variety of modules, such as microbiology, entomology, botany and soil biology. The lab has facilities for sample preparation and the instructor’s microscope and stereoscope is connected through a digital camera to a projector to facilitate teaching microscopy principles to students.

Tissue Culture Lab
The Tissue culture Laboratory enables student training on modern in vitro cell and plant tissue propagation and disinfection techniques for plant asexual propagation and grafting, with many industrial and research applications. For this purpose, cutting edge equipment is utilized such as laminar flow cabinets to achieve aseptic environments for in vitro culture, controlled environment growth chambers with LED lighting, and propagation and a phenotyping cabinet to assess growth of plants with sophisticated cameras and digital analysis.

Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry lab includes all the basic equipment for chemistry such as water baths, balances, stirrers, vortexes and burette pipettes. It is also equipped with 2 hoods, one for the volatile chemicals and one for the Soxlet apparatus for measuring the lipid content in foods. There is a special designed closet for strong acids and bases. Apart of these, the lab is equipped with a spectrophotometer, a pH-meter, a furnace, the equipment for measuring the fiber content in foods, and a system that measures protein content in foods using the Dumas method. Thus, in this lab students can do all the basic chemistry labs and to develop the Nutritional declaration of a food product’s label.

Biochemistry/Molecular Biology Lab
The Biochemistry/Molecular Biology laboratory introduces the students into the modern applications of DNA analysis. The students are trained on DNA/RNA extraction and visualization methods as well as DNA based diagnostic methods with multiple applications in the industry. The laboratory is equipped with incubators, centrifuge, electrophoresis apparatus and cabinet for DNA visualization and a PCR/ Real Time PCR machine for DNA-based.

Physical Chemistry/Food Science Lab
The Physical Chemistry/Food Science Lab is dedicated to the isolatin and the characterization of various food ingredients regarding their composition and functionality. This fundamental information is crucial for the application of these compounds as ingredients in the development of new food products.

Microbiology Lab
The Microbiology Lab contains all the required equipment for the microbial analysis of food, soil and water samples. Students have the opportunity to get trained in all the official analytical methods and to perform research on the effect of various parameters on the growth of spoilage and pathogenic bacteria aiming in the determination of the shelf life of various food products.

Life Sciences Lab
The Life Science lab is dedicated to research projects. The lab is fully equipped with all the basic equipment such as such as balances, stirrers, vortexes, pH meters, centrifuges and burette pipettes. It also contains several refrigerators, water baths, and a fume hood.  Several different types of incubators are also present such as for constant temperature, refrigerated incubators (to monitor mold growth), and with controlled humidity. The lab is also equipped with spectrophotometer, a laminar flow, a texture analyzer and a lab olive press. The olive press includes a crusher which crushes the olive fruits, a malaxation device and a centrifuge. In this lab students can work on their dissertation projects without being interrupted by lab sessions of other modules.

Precision Agriculture Lab
The Precision Agriculture Lab serves the educational needs of a number of main modules and research needs f or Faculty & students and collaboration with Agro Businesses. It is well equipped with Precision Agriculture equipment (sensors, software, UAV’s (drones), Telemetric and Automated Weather Stations, etc.) and keeps up with any latest technological related developments.

Krinos Olive Center
The Krinos Olive Center provides an integrated approach in the cultivation of all types of olive systems, harvesting, processing and marketing of main products and by-products. It is becoming a hub for information disseminated to a wide range of end users and has organized a number of International conferences. More info in the webpage: https://www.perrotiscollege.edu.gr/perrotis-college-krinos-olive-center/

New Food Product Development Lab
The New Food Product Development Lab contains all the equipment that is required for the production on a pilot scale of a variety of products such as pasta, various freeze dried products, canned food products, dough based products, etc.

Dairy Lab
The Dairy Lab enables the students training οn production and examination of a variety of dairy products such as various types of cheese, yogurt, and ice-cream on a pilot scale.

Horticultural Labs-Greenhouses & Shadehouse (Perrotis AGROCenter)
The Horticultural Labs-Greenhouses & Shadehouse facilitate the Lab sessions  οf a number of modules and in parallel is a place for Faculty and student research and Dissertation projects. Many publications were resulted from projects conducted in here as well as collaboration with agro-food businesses.

Educational - Research - Demonstration High density Olive grove
The Educational - Research - Demonstration High density Olive grove was established in 2011 and is becoming a unique for Greece place for long-term evaluation of the new olive production systems adapted to mechanical harvesting. In conjunction with the Krinos Olive Center, it facilitates education-research and demonstration issues. Many innovation in national and international levels were established and publication was produced.

All research is conducted in a careful and responsible manner and no experiments on animals are conducted during any phase of experimentation.
