In the context of the Program "New Agriculture for a New Generation", an initiative that aims to create career opportunities and entrepreneurship for youth in the Agrifood sector in Greece, two beneficiaries of the project “Sheep & Goat: Enhancing Dairy & Meat Sector”, implemented by the American Farm Schoolwere given the opportunity to participate in the “Space” Exhibition, the International Exhibition for Animal Production in Rennes, France, in September 10-13, 2019.
Thanassis Pelechras (Sheep breeder - Drama) and Metin Kalfa (Beef producer - Xanthi) were accompanied by the project leader Vicky Kristalalidou and the program associate professor Aristotle Lymperopoulos. During the exhibition, the producers had the opportunity to get in touch with new technologies applied in the field of animal husbandry, to attend competitions regarding animals of high genetic value, to discuss with executives of international stock breeding, nutrition and health companies. Finally, they were guided to exemplary livestock premises and became familiar with the use of cutting edge equipment and machinery.
