Perrotis College has been preparing its students for careers in the agrofood sector since 1996. The College maintains cooperative relationships with universities and businesses worldwide and has developed a significant network of professional contacts, thus providing its students with the necessary tools to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Although Perrotis College has been informally offering career services since its founding, the Career Office was officially created in the Fall 2018 to meet the needs of students and graduates who require assistance with career counseling, CV creation and other document preparation for their future academic or professional activities. Various presentations, speeches and Career Days are organized throughout the year to bring together students and graduates with industry leaders in the field.
In the first year of its operation, the Career Office managed to create records of approximately 50 CVs from all academic departments and assisted several graduates in finding jobs. In addition, the Career Office assisted in placing students in summer internships at Greek businesses in the summer of 2019. A Food Science & Technology student was sent on a full paid scholarship for a three-month research internship at Iowa State University and a six-month internship was secured for a 3rd year Agro-Environmental Systems Management student, working on a joint venture research project between Perrotis College and AII research center, member of GROUPE ROULLIER. Furthermore, the Career Office assisted several graduating students prepare their applications for graduate schools throughout Europe (Wageningen UR, University of Copenhagen, GLION Institute of Higher Education).
In April 2019, the first Perrotis College Career Day was organized with the participation of four leading companies in the field, which presented their company profiles and met with a select group of approximately 70 students and alumni.
In the Fall of 2019, the Career Office was further expanded in order to strengthen the services offered. Today, it operates under the joint collaboration of the Perrotis College and the Student Services Center.
