Valerija graduated last year from Perrotis College and already works as a Market research Associate at IvyExec
"I have learned what it means to be a business woman and at Perrotis College I was encouraged to be one – A strong, independent business woman with a really bright future, and it all started with my fist day at Perrotis. " Valerija received her Bachelor in International Business Management in 2020. During her studies she worked as a Residence Assistant and she was also elected President of Student Council. She completed her internship in USA in the area of management and marketing in Burlington, Vermont and in September 2020 she started her career working at a major home appliance company in Serbia as a Brand communications associate.
“People at Perrotis College made a safe environment for international students, they really gave their best to make all students feel accepted and welcomed. Professors that work at college are unbelievably good! They have given us more life and real lessons than just went through the materials. We had a lot of workshops, trips and different activities that gave us a valuable insight in the way that market works.” she said. She confessed that when she applied for her first job she had a great advantage of knowing what the employer would be looking for, how to prepare and generally what were her values and strengths that made her a better candidate. “At Perrotis College we really had an opportunity to learn from the best! The college offers a really good mix of professors with different backgrounds, ways of teaching and career paths. They have an amazing umbrella of different study fields, and what I loved the most is that they treat all of the students individually. They know everyone’s name, progress and background. Professors, because of smaller classes, can really focus on each student and their development, which at this stage of your life can be crucial. Having someone giving you attention and individual training of your skills can change your future career.”, she mentioned.
Her advice to current Perrotis College students is to take advantage of the facilities teachers and resources. “Do not sit in your dorm waiting for an invite to go to a library and check the materials, don’t wait for a professor to invite you, schedule a meeting and ASK. Never be afraid to ask something and get a valuable insight from Perrotis professionals!”
